About Us

Eddie HernandezThe Funseekers Invitational League was founded in 1994 by the late Eddie Hernandez. Eddie took it upon himself to create a forum where both experienced and novice bowling aficionados could compete in a fun, friendly atmosphere. A proud member of the International Gay Bowling Organization and the United States Bowling Congress, Funseekers consisted primarily of gay male bowlers until the summer of 2001.

For the first several years of its existence, Funseekers bowled side-by-side with a league known as the Dukes & Duchesses (“D&D”). During the summer 2001 season D&D decided to take a hiatus due to a diminished participation level. Eddie agreed to allow the five or six teams that desired to participate in a league that summer to join the Funseekers League and… well, they've been with us ever since!

Eddie Hernandez As a result, today's Funseekers is one of the most diversified leagues in the greater Los Angeles area (perhaps in the entire state of California). Our league members are gays and lesbians, straight, women, men, married couples, grandparents, and more! Our members range from early 20's to early 80's in age and our averages range from under 100 to somewhere in the 220's.

Funseekers is as strong as ever and we'd like to continue growing. Feel free to visit us on any upcoming Thursday night or drop us a line! Take a look at our Contact page for more information.
